我在南澳-Loxton的農場生活


Riverland…

從西澳開車橫跨到南澳，在阿德雷德(Adelaide)市區待了4天之後，就離開了這個繁忙又多變的大城市，到Adelaide東北方Riverland裡的一個小鎮-Loxton。

After crossing of West to South Australia, I had stayed in Adelaide for 4 days, which’s a vibrant and bustling city then headed to a small village named Loxton in Riverland east-north of Adelaide.


Riverland這個區域以季節性採收工作多為聞名，Renmark、Berri、Wailerie及Loxton這四個Riverland著名的小鎮幾乎是以葡萄園及柑橘園包圍而成的，Renmark、Berri及Loxton鎮上都有便宜的住宿地點提供給來這邊工作的人。像我現在住在Loxton Harvest Trail Lodge裡，不管是dorm room還是雙人房還是一個人睡，一天都只要澳幣15元，應有盡有。

There are many seasonal fruit picking jobs for which Riverland is famed; Renmark, Berri, Wailerie and Loxton are almost surrounded with a assortment of vineyards and citrus yards, and they can offer those who come to work budget accommodations. Now I live in Loxton Harvest Trail lodge; it's only $15 per day with full facilities, no matter you live in a dorm room, double room, or single room.


從Loxton到Adelaide大約250公里，開車的話大概要3個小時左右，如果沒有自己的交通工具，可以在Adelaide的Central bus station搭大眾運輸工具到這裡，單趟好像是$45澳幣。

It’s about 250 kilometers and maybe taking 3 hours by car from Adelaide to Loxton; without personal vehicles, just $45 you may take public transport to come here from central bus station in Adelaide CBD.


Riverland這邊並沒有什麼特別的景色，雖然都是很樸實寧靜的鄉村小鎮，但生活機能卻是非常健全。Woolworth、Coles、IGA三大澳洲的超級市場這裡都有，鎮立圖書館還提供免費的無線網路給大眾使用，對於沒有網路不行的我來說算是最大的福音。

It’s plain, tranquil, without attractive sceneries but offers a plenty to live in Riverland. There are Woolworth, Coles and IGA supermarkets here and free wireless providing at libraries.


我目前正等待柑橘採收季節的來臨。因為處於青黃不接的時間，所以還沒有固定的工作，每個星期只有2天的工作天，就是去葡萄園採收要用來釀酒的葡萄。

Now I’m waiting for the coming of citrus season, so I don’t have the stable job during this embarrassing time. It’s only grape picking for 2 days a week.


The Olive trees


跟之前輕鬆的蔬菜工廠時薪制相比，採一箱葡萄才$2元澳幣(不同品種還有一箱1.2/1.5/1.8澳幣的)，這個工作其實還真吃力不討好，不過因為是過渡時期，相對於便宜的住宿跟伙食費，也算是不無小補。

Compared with the relaxed job I had worked in the vegetable factory, the grape picking is unsatisfying and only $2 per box, (Different prices for different kinds),but it’s still a tip for your accommodation and food fees.




The Korean seaweed and Cha-Jang instant noodles


來到Loxton已經2個星期了，沒有工作的日子，最大的娛樂就是看影集跟電影。
上個星期因為真的很無聊的關係，就把一部韓劇”幻想情侶”給嗑光了。結果因為劇中女主角愛吃炸醬麵成癮，連帶的我也開始很想吃炸醬麵。昨天因為送新朋友Klara去Adelaide搭飛機的關係，終於在Adelaide的中國城大肆採購，買到了韓國的炸醬麵。(不過我本來是想買維力炸醬麵的啊!!!!為什麼沒有賣!?)今天開了一包煮來當午餐吃，味道還不賴，終於一解我對炸醬麵的相思之苦。

I had been in Loxton for 2 weeks; without going to work the best way to kill time is watching dramas and movies.
Last week I had finished a Korean drama named “Fake couple” just because I was really really bored. Due to the actress liked to eat Cha-Jang noodles very much, I was also affected. We drove our friend-Klara to Adelaide taking plane yesterday; I finally could buy the Korean Cha-Jang noodles in China town. I cooked it for lunch today and the taste was not bad so that my craving was cured.
